Ișnovăț tributary - a new life

The Ișnovăț River is a river in the center of the Republic of Moldova, with a length of about 59 km and a hydrographic basin of about 370.5 km². It springs northeast of the village of Capriana, at an altitude of 147 m, and flows into the Bâc River, being a right tributary of it. Crossing the districts of Straseni, Ialoveni and the municipality of Chisinau, the river crosses localities such as Malcoci, Nimoreni, Suruceni, Dănceni, Sociteni, Ialoveni, Milestii Mici and Piatra Albă. In the area of the village of Milestii Mici, the Ișnovăț river has specific characteristics: it is swampy, and the adjacent lands are 59% eroded, 34% agricultural land and 6% forest fund. In this region, the river is fed by a ravine with a length of 8 km, which collects water from six springs located in the locality. Also, on the territory of Milestia Mici there are six ponds, some of which are used for fish farming. Thus, the Ișnovăț River plays an important role in the local ecosystem and economic activities in the region, but it is also vulnerable to the impact of human activities, requiring protection measures and sustainable management.
