Educational program in beautiful Kastoria

Educational program in beautiful Kastoria

Description: The students had the opportunity to get to know the most important species of the rich flora and fauna of the lake, to observe and record them in the field, as well as the interaction of the ecosystem with the human factor. They were particularly impressed by the visit to the KEPEA aquarium, where they playfully observed and obtained interesting information about the fish and other freshwater organisms that are hosted there. The visit to Dispilio was special! There, with the guidance of the managers of KEPEA of Kastoria, they were guided through the precise reconstructions of the Neolithic lake settlement dating back to 5,260 BC. Divided into groups, they became archaeologists and with the help of technology they discovered virtual prehistoric findings! It was a highly interesting educational experience that excited the students and provided them with important knowledge for the understanding and utilization of water resources. The 50th Primary School of Patras has been a member of the “European Blue Schools” network since 2024 and this visit took place within the framework of the ProBleu program.
