Plastic pollution comes from many places. Learning about where it comes from helps us stop it! Some plastic comes from things we do in or on the ocean, like fishing. Most plastic comes from things we use on land that end up in the ocean. Littering Sadly, some people drop plastic rubbish on the ground or in water instead of in bins. Factory waste Plastic materials can escape when products are made and transported, often through accidental spills or improper handling. Even if we throw plastic in the bin, it can still blow out of the bin or the landfill and end up in nature. Improper waste disposal Microfibres Tiny plastic fibres from products and clothing that enter waterways through washing and use.
