How does this help nature? Results help scientists understand the state of our freshwater. Here are some of our results from Sept 2025s WaterBlitz: -5,708 volunteers collected data from 3,430 freshwater sites, -60% of these sites showed poor water quality -England had more polluted sites than Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland. When we all help, we can find out what's happening in lots of places. Then we can make changes to protect nature. For example - we can see which areas have the worst water quality and look for reasons it’s so bad in that place. Once we identify the reason we can work to change it. This protects the nature that call it home. Intro Citizen Science Overview (7-11) 14/17
