This educational program, featuring a diver shoft doll named Ghosty as the central character, aims to raise awareness about ghost nets and the ghost fishing phenomenon among children and promote environmental stewardship. Ghosty is a 28cm tall soft doll, handmade in Portugal from organic cotton, created by the Healthy Seas foundation an inspired by Ghost Diving volunteer divers who wear orange dry suits to stand out in low visibility conditions, while cleaning up ghost nets from the seas and oceans. Ghost nets are lost, abandoned or otherwise discarded fishing nets that continue to catch and kill marine life, posing a significant threat to ocean ecosystems and human health.
